    The Special Anti-Robbery Squad has come under heavy criticisms from the public over continuous abuse of power and the killings of innocent citizens.

    Numerous reports of extortion, kidnapping and extrajudicial killings carried out by SARS officers have been going around the various social media platforms.

    However, a look at some reports from over the years show that despite the clout and money some celebrities possess, they - just like regular citizens - still fall victims to the crimes of these supposed officers of the law.

    Below are 9 Nigerian celebrities who have had their own bitter experience with some bad fruits in the police force:

    These celebrities have reportedly been extorted, kidnapped and shot at by SARS officers. @ebuka, @illblissgoretti, @cdqlowo/Instagram

    1. Ebuka

    The media personality known for his great fashion sense and as the host for Big Brother Naija , may not have lived to see another 15 years all thanks to SARS officers.

    In a recent tweet, Ebuka revealed he together with his friend was shot at by the police officers.

    2. Mayorkun

    In 2018, the DMW took to Twitter to say a prayer against harassment from the hands of SARS officers.

    This left many people curious until OAP Dotun revealed the reason behind Mayorkun’s sudden prayer against SARS harassment.

    Dotun revealed in a reply to Mayorkun’s tweet that he was scheduled to have an interview with him yesterday but the interview did not hold because SARS officers ‘caught’ the singer.

    3. Ill Bliss

    The Nigerian rapper who recently welcomed another child with his wife has also been attacked by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

    He tweeted that they pointed a gun to his head during their search.

    4. Kelechi Okoro

    Popular doctor and women's health advocate, Kelechi Okoro, recently shared her experience in the hands of SARS officers.

    British Nigerian actor John Boyega to join protest in UK, lends his voice to EndSARS campaign

    In a recent tweet, she revealed that she was once harassed after they found packs of condoms in her bag.

    5. Dotun

    The presenter in 2018 took to his Twitter handle to narrate how he was stopped by SARS officials for rocking a gold-tinted hair. Dotun disclosed that he was mistaken for a yahoo boy.

    Narrating how he escaped their arrest, he said that he was lucky one of the officers on duty recognised him and told them to leave him.

    6. Zoro

    The eastern musician has also been a victim of SARS brutality.

    In 2018, he took to Twitter to recount how he narrowly escaped being killed by SARS officials in Rivers state. The obviously embittered rapper took to his Twitter page to share his experience.

    He explained his anger at the fact that even though he wasn’t guilty of anything, he was still harassed and even almost lost his life in the process.

    7. CDQ

    The singer in 2019 took to social media to narrate a rather scary experience he recently had with some SARS officers in a part of Lekki, Lagos state.

    CDQ revealed that these officers

    allegedly threatened to shoot him and even went on to brag about how they'd get away with it.

    8. Dr Sid

    In 2018, SARS officers stopped the Marvin record singer thinking he was one of the Lagos yahoo boys not knowing he is a musician.

    The SARS officials seized his phone and almost assaulted him, until the intervention of his label mate, Reekado Banks and comedian Basketmouth.

    9, Ikechukwu

    In 2019, he Nigerian rapper-turned-actor recounted his harrowing experience with operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

    Ikechukwu explained that he was kidnapped on the night of Wednesday, September 4, by SARS operatives, just a few blocks from his residence.

    He said he was afterwards driven all the way to Lagos Island, where he was made to forcefully give out his ATM allowance or lose his life without anyone knowing about had happened.
