The committee which was headed by Osinbajo has six state governors from the country's geopolitical zones as members.

The member governors are those from Sokoto, Borno, Niger, Ondo, Ebonyi, and Delta states.

Among other duties, the committee will engage “relevant stakeholders” to chart a way forward on “employment, social safety net programmes, and national unity among other key issues of concern” for the country.

It will also engage with security agencies and work on providing compensation for those who have incurred losses in the last few weeks.

The committee is also expected to come up with a framework for social security to deal with the problem of unemployment and poverty in the country.

Since the #EndSARS protest turned violent after the infiltration of hoodlums, Nigeria has been a hotbed of violence, with series of large scale destruction, massive looting of public and private warehouses, and loss of lives.
