  •  1 JEHOVAH CREATED HUMANS WITH THE DESIRE TO WORK

    “Everyone should eat and drink and find enjoyment for all his hard work . It is the gift of God.”— Ecclesiastes 3:13

    Why is work a gift from God?

    Genesis 1:1, 31; Ecclesiastes 2:24; John 5:17

    Jehovah works hard. He enjoys his work and wants us to feel good about our work too.

    Proverbs 8:22-31; Colossians 1:15-17

    Jesus too has always been a hard worker, both in heaven and on earth.

    Mark 6:3; Luke 21:37, 38; John 4:31-38; 17:4

    Jesus did high-quality work and completed his assignments even when doing so was not easy.

    2 WE CAN IMPROVE OUR ATTITUDE TOWARD OUR

    WORK

    “Have you seen a man skillful at his

    work ? He will stand before kings.”—

    Proverbs 22:29

    What will help us to enjoy our work ?

    Proverbs 12:24; Colossians 3:22-24; Hebrews 13:18

    Even if we can’t change our job, we can improve our attitude. We also want to be honest and work hard.

    Proverbs 27:11; 1 Timothy 5:8;

    1 Peter 2:12

    When you take care of your family materially, you are obeying God. And your good conduct at work honors Jehovah.

    Exodus 20:13-15; Proverbs 2:6;

    Romans 14:19-22; Ephesians 5:28–6:4; 1 John 5:3; Revelation 18:4

    The Bible helps us to understand how taking a certain job may affect us, our family, other brothers and sisters, and most important, Jehovah.

    3 SETTING THE RIGHT PRIORITIES CAN HELP US ENJOY OUR WORK

    “Make sure of the more important things.”— Philippians 1:10

    What should our priorities be?

    Psalm 37:25; Proverbs 3:5, 6;

    1 Peter 5:7

    Trust that Jehovah knows what you need in your daily life.

    Matthew 6:25-32; 1 Timothy 6:8-10; Hebrews 13:5

    Learn to be content with what you already have.

    Proverbs 10:22; Matthew 6:33;

    28:19, 20; Hebrews 10:24, 25

    Stay focused on serving Jehovah and preaching the good news. This is the most important work we can do.
